Pastrami on Rye Burger

This tasty burger is based on the classic Pastrami on Rye sandwich. It comes on rye bread and has juicy beef patties, Swiss cheese, pastrami, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices of pastrami
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 slices of rye bread
  • 1/4 cup Russian dressing
  • 1/4 cup sauerkraut
  • 1/4 cup sliced pickles
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup lettuce leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat

Form the ground beef into four patties and season them with salt and pepper

Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or to your desired level of doneness

While the patties are cooking, toast the rye bread slices on the grill until they are lightly browned

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt

To assemble the burgers, spread Russian dressing on one side of each rye bread slice

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom slice, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese

Top the patty with a slice of pastrami, sauerkraut, pickles, and diced onions

Finally, place the remaining rye bread slice on top to complete the sandwich

Serve your Pastrami on Rye Burgers hot and enjoy!
